We had a great time out at Amazeme last week. There was so much to do and only one day to fit it all in, but one of the big highlights was the good old fashioned sack racing.

Taeotu Whanau Day
Taeotu Whanau Day
- We will be looking at what cultural identity is, and what it means to belong to a culture.
- What is whariki, and what makes the symbolism of a whariki so similar to ourselves and our whanau group.
- Students will be choosing the cultures that we identify with the most, and then creating a whariki strand that represents what that culture means to us by drawing icons and symbols that represent our culture.
- Once we have completed this, we will combine them to make a group whariki, so there will be 8 whariki in total.
